This was accompanied by wave caps and durags on males of various ages attempting to achieve "waves" through a profound usage of Murray's hair grease and/or s-curl activator gel (chris rock def shouldda had himself in the good hair documentary, he's went through many a box of s-curlinrhe late 1990s early 2000s).
